RefReps is excited to spread the word about Save Our Sports' (SOS) incredible mission and aid where possible in the opportunities SOS provides. This is definitely something RefReps is excited to be a part of and know will make an impact in the officiating realm, not only as a whole but for the individuals winning this grant. Save Our Sports (SOS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit membership organization with the vision to help people develop and prosper in health, wellness, professionally, and personally through the journey of being a sports official. Our mission is to serve communities, families, and individuals through the support, recruitment, retention, and holistic development of sports officials. We promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and access. We remove barriers by subsidizing costs for registration, training, equipment, and supplies. We thoughtfully and intentionally pair members with passionate, mission-driven mentors to serve as role models, coaches, and advocates.
Purpose: To support high school students in their pursuit of personal, professional and academic development and success through the journey of becoming a sports official.
Reward: One or more individuals selected from the pool of qualified applicants will be awarded grants for training, equipment, and support resources up to $500.
Qualifications: Interested candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this award:
- Current high school student enrolled in an active Ref Reps course
- Must be referred by instructor
- Have submitted a completed the application
- Have followed and liked Save Our Sports, RefReps, and Umps Care on social media
*Application must be submitted by May 15, 2023 at 11:59pm EST.
*Grant recipients will be announced May 19, 2023.
